I have been fishing with Sitka point four times over 8 years. I have truly enjoyed every moment of it. The accommodations are first class , the food is prepared by a great chef and the boats are run by dedicated guides. The preparation of fish to take home is second to none. Noah and Liam do a spectacular job. On our last trip 8/2 - 8/9 2017 we had tremendous fish with Mike our boat captain. We caught our limit every day of salmon and halibut as well as 7 king salmon. When it comes to fishing and hunting it's not always a guarantee. Weather and other factors contribute to either catching fish or bagging birds or an animal. If you want the best chance of catching fish Sitka point is the spot... I personally brought home 200 lbs of fish as did my father. Mike your a great captain and we will see you again next year!!! I've fished here the past four years with my dad and friends, and we just booked again for next year. The captains and deckhands work their butts off to make the fishing experience as good as possible. The lodge is very comfortable, and we are quite well fed! All the staff are friendly and welcoming. Each year I bring home way more fish than I can eat on my own. Highly recommended! Our group stayed at the Sitka Point Lodge for the first time from 8/14/17 through 8/19/17. Our party consisted of 5 friends some of whom have been going to Sitka for fishing expeditions for 10 plus years. This was my third trip to Sitka. We stayed in the cabin next to the lodge and found it very comfortable and had everything we needed except drinking glasses, which we had to obtain daily from the main lodge, and not enough hooks to hang our slickers on when we returned from fishing. Dave, the lodge's chef, prepared excellent meals daily and his sauces were some of the best I have had. The reason for only a two star rating was our disappointing fishing experience. Some of our group have been fishing annually at Sitka for more than 10 years, this being my third trip. We come for the fishing and had the worst catch our group has ever had. Our captain, Mike, seemed to be content with just going to a spot or two he had marked, anchoring, and hoping the fish would swim to the boat rather than moving to other spots when the fish were not biting. Our group goes to Alaska to fish and not wait and hope the fish come to the boat. As a result, we went home with 1/3 less fish than we normally catch. We were expecting excellent fishing as in our previous Sitka fishing trips and did not experience it. What a great charter to enjoy the true Alaskan experience. From the excellent food from Chef David, the deckhands who do all the grunt work cleaning, baiting the hooks, and packaging your fish. To the knowlageable and highly experienced captains who puts you on the fish every time. (Mike, Eli & Brian) I've been visiting this lodge for the past 3 years and never been disappointed. Fabulous amenities at the lodge with a awesome view of the Alaskan wilderness. Worth every penny!! Have fished here 2 times and will definitely be returning every time I come back! Boat captains are top notch! Instead of fishing it should be called catching! Limited out every day by noon or 1pm both times I've fished here. Fantastic lodge and accommodations, the food was also amazing!
