The environment is inspirational with the shore, the forest and the incredible totem collection. The path is flat and level with easy access. Excellent photo opportunities. It is a short walk from the cruise line bus stop. Very nice National Historic Park. Nice displays, park video and staff. The Bishop's House should not be missed. The totem park was a nice short walk. The self guided phone number was a nice touch in the totem Park. The phone number and totem number is on the back of each pole. When in the Bishop's House be sure to ask the ranger to explain the blocks of tea and how the Samovar works. Beautiful forest near town for hiking among traditional Alaska Totem Poles. Mostly made by and for Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian Indians. Close, flat walking or running trails through green trees. During August you can watch the salmon run from the bridge. One it's my favorite Pisces in Sitka. Trails are wide, flat, and go through the woods and by the ocean. You can the an audio tour of the totems too. The visitors center always has a great exhibit fog on too. Easy walking trails that take you through the evergreen forest, with totem poles dotted along the route. The air here was amazing- fresher than anywhere I've ever been before.
